I am an Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering.

My degrees are in mechanical engineering with an emphasis on product and system design from the University of Illinois at Chicago (BS), Stanford University (MS), and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (PhD).

My research interests are in user-centered design methodology and human-computer interaction. My current activities focus on integrating principles and methodologies for the design of usable systems into the product development process.

I teach undergraduate courses on system design, decision support systems, and quality improvement methods and graduate courses on user-centered design and human-computer interaction.

I am a member of HFES (CSTG, ETG, and ITG), ACM (SIGCHI), and UPA. I have been a member and Chair of the HFES’s Membership Admissions Committee and a member of the Annual Meeting Workshops Committee. I have served as the Program Chair of the HFES Computer Systems Technical Group for the past two years.
