About this website

We built this website to facilitate communication between

  • group members

  • faculty
  • alumni
  • local Human Factors professionals
We have designed this site with several different purposes, we hope to

  • Post meetings, events, and other news stories on the front page

  • Communicate informally amongst ourselves through the discussion forums
  • Store information about resources available to members
  • Provide members a place to house a profile and resume, giving prospective employers an easy, safe place to look at your work

There are 4 levels of site user

  • Anonymous user: can see most of the site, but can't post in the discussion forums

  • Authenticated user: a registered user of the site, but not a dues paying or alumni member of the club. Can post in certain discussion forums and see most of the site, but not the job listings or HF company data base.
  • Member: a dues paying member or alumni of the club, who can see the whole site, make posts in all discussion forums, see job listings, and can create a profile for others to see. To become a member go to the join us page and follow the directions there.
  • Officer: a dues paying member of the club, elected to office of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, or Webmaster. These officials can access and edit all areas of the site and act as site moderators.

The site was built by James Rubinstein, Matthew Garbarino, Nathan Klein, and Shiva Subramaniam on the Drupal content management system. It uses a modified 'Brushed Steel' theme. The team would like to acknowledge Dr. Joel Greenstein for his support and guidance during this project.
